Kehillat Israel Reconstructionist Congregation of Pacific Palisades is excited to present a 4-part series, “Understanding Israel,” on Tuesdays from 7:30 – 9:00 PM, next programs will take place on February 7 and 21, and March 13.

Step back from the passions and politics and take advantage of this unparalleled opportunity to learn or rediscover the history of the modern state of Israel with some of the world’s leading scholars. Noted thinker and Chair of the UCLA History Department, Dr. David Myers will lead four ninety-minute sessions taking us from the rebirth of Zionism in Europe in the 1870s to the challenges of today’s modern state.

Dr. Myers will be joined by other academic luminaries from UCLA: Dr. Arieh Saposnik, Director of the Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, and Dr. Steven Spiegel, Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
